I miss the big island. I've been back from the big island for almost a week. The temperature in Utah hasn't risen above freezing this whole week. I've caught a little bit of a cold. And most depressing i've shoveled snow at least six times.
In this post i've included some pictures of our very favorite beach. It is called Kua Bay and it is honestly one of the prettiest beaches i've ever played on. The waves were almost non-existent last week on the big island, but this beach always had enough wave to body surf or boogie board.
Body surfing is probably the activity that makes me smile more then any other. I love the sensation of warm ocean water totally surrounding my body. It feels like heaven is wrapping it's arms around me and for a moment the world slows.

Spontaneous
Sunday night I finally convinced my two roommates to swipe their VISA cards and buy tickets to the Big Island of Hawaii. You would think I could have convinced them over the previous months. But no! It took me right down till 11:30 PM the night before. We flew out Monday morning.
We landed and instantly all the cares of the world just seemed to melt away. It was that splendid feeling of Hawaii. The smell of flowers the stickiness of the humidity and a perfect temperature. We left Utah in a total blizzard. The for the week in Utah was supposed to be the upper twenties.
Being only twenty-two we were concerned about our ability to rent a car. I fully recommend THRIFTY, they waved the additional fee for being under twenty-five and were a complete pleasure to work with. They also had the cheapest rates. The compact car was a Dodge Caliber and wasn't bad at all, plenty of leg room. The only down fall was that it didn't have power locks.
